Experts in the Community

On 23 June 2026, Ann Hodson was the keynote speaker at the annual conference of the Devon and Cornwall Community Scrutiny Panel, with its theme of “Experts by experience-from scrutiny to meaningful change”.  She spoke on Experts in the Community, acknowledging of course the importance of experts with qualifications and certificates but highlighting that experts with their own distinctive experiences are across communities and serve communities and provide for the benefit of communities.  Every community holds knowledge.  Every person holds insights.  Every lived experience has value.  They come from working together and not doing it alone.  That is how good communities and community spirit works.  Here PowerPoint can be seen here
