Opportunities of arbitration in international family law

I was delighted to be invited to speak to a conference of the Kenya branch of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators concerned with the creation of a family arbitration scheme, as we did in England 20 years ago.  We’ve all got a lot to learn and share globally.  I spoke about the opportunities of arbitration for international families, specifically to avoid the long, uncertain, expensive and sometimes unsatisfactory forum disputes, deciding where proceeding should take place.  Use arbitration instead!  Here are my notes and I’m happy to discuss further either with any jurisdiction or any lawyer or arbitrator interested in this international family law arbitration scheme.
